For a successful application:
What is it about you that will make your application stand out? Make sure to include relevant skills, knowledge and experience to make your application shine.
Do your research.
Ensure that you are familiar with Leeds City Council, its Values and the services it delivers. Research the priorities and projects which are key at the time of your application. Having a sound knowledge of the role played by the Council will help make your application stand out and allows you to discover what it is that really interests you about becoming an Apprentice with Leeds City Council.
Include examples from your work experience, outside interests and/or volunteering.
We are interested to know what you are involved in and motivated by. Try to use a range of examples from your list of work experience and extra-curricular activities to demonstrate how you share our values. If you have little or no previous work experience don't be put off, tell us what you understand by the values and give examples from your personal life if you have them.
Make it easy to get yourself shortlisted.
Structure your application in a logical way. Remember you will need to demonstrate to us how you meet the criteria asked for. Don't just say 'I can do that', say 'I demonstrate that when I...', or 'I understand the Council Values to mean...' and 'I demonstrate that through my behaviour by...'. Check your spelling and grammar.
